The word Chakra comes from an ancient Indian language known as Sanskrit. Chakra means vortex, spinning wheel, or circle. Now imagine the chakras as circles of energy, flowing all the way through our body these circles of energy aid in the running of our body, mind, and soul. If a chakra is out of balance, this could cause our physical, mental, and spiritual selves to suffer. These chakras start at the base of the spine and move upwards to the last one at the crown of the head. The following seven chakra symbols are vital to our health.
ROOT or BASE CHAKRA (base of spine tailbone) Color is red and rules zodiac signs Capricorn, Virgo and Taurus. Represents earth-centered energy and physical strength. You can utilize this chakra when you need courage and physical strength. Health issues: Joint pain, lower backache, obesity, constipation, anorexia, and poor immune system.
SACRAL CHAKRA (naval area) Orange in color, ruling zodiac signs Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio. This chakra controls sexuality, reproduction, and relationships. Influences the release of adrenaline in the body. Invoke this chakra to help in relationships. Health Issues: Uterine or bladder problems, sexual difficulties, impotence, sciatica, and problems with large intestines.
SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA (slightly above the naval area) Yellow in color. Zodiac signs Aries, Leo and Sagittarius. This chakra connects us with the energy of self-esteem and expressing our personal power. Use this chakra when you need courage. Health Issues: blood sugar, pancreatic issues, gallstones, low energy, muscle cramps, stomach problems, liver, and lumbar spine.
HEART CHAKRA (heart area) Green in color, ruling zodiac signs Aquarius, Gemini and Libra. This chakra relates to emotions such as love and compassion. Use this chakra for harmony with others.
