We all know that April showers bring May flowers…well it is that time of year and time to plant and renew our gardens. Why not try to make it more personalized by adding some specific flowers for your sign and feel the benefits of being more connected to Mother Nature.

Aries ~ Colors are orange and red. Honeysuckle, pansies, and impatiens.  Also, orange tiger lily with spots or a large cluster of big orange geraniums.   

Taurus~ Colors are pink, yellow, and red blossoms.  Roses, daisies, columbines, violets, and poppies are favorites.  

Gemini~ Good colors are crimson, sky blue, and pink.  Light airy plants such as lily of the valley, lavender, orchids, lilac,  and chrysanthemum. The peony only blossoms for one week of June during the astral rule of Gemini. 

Cancer ~ Colors should be emerald green or sea blue. Being a water sign likes all water blossoms such as lotus, water lilies, and cat tails.  Camellias and peonies also suit this sign.

Leo ~ Best colors for Leo are yellow and gold.  A big bouquet of giant sunflowers or daisies rules this sign. This sign also loves yellow flowers such as marigolds, heliotrope, and dahlias. 

Virgo ~ White or violet is colors for this sign. This sign likes tiny blossoms, especially tiny asylum, asters, and pansies.  Virgos also like aromatic flowers such as narcissus and chrysanthemums. 

Libra~ Pink, white, and dark green suit this sign the best.  A particular favorite is pink roses and the larger the bud the better. Librans also love hydrangea and all blue flowers include lavender and asters. 

Scorpio ~Red, silver, or crimson colors suit this passionate sign the best.  Bird of Paradise or a black orchid would be a suitable for a Scorpio. They also like the scarlet monkey flower, geraniums, and rhododendrons.

Sagittarius~ This light hearted sign likes light green, pink, and yellow blossoms. Enjoys tiny roses, carnations, peonies, and pinks. Dandelions and trails of clematis are also favorite flowers. 

Capricorn~ Good colors are white, gold, or light blue.  Loves cute interesting blossoms like bleeding hearts, trilliums, camellia, and magnolias.  Also, pink pansies and miniature calla lilies. 

Aquarius ~ Aquarians also like black, purple, and yellow blossoms.   Enjoys rare blossoms like bird of paradise, gladiolus, trilliums, and orchid. The larger the blossom the better. 

Pisces~ Dark green, blue, and gold are great color choices.  This is a water sign that enjoys water lilies, wisteria, willows, and any plant that thrives near water. They also love the delicate tissue paper texture of poppies. 

Let me use this example of how our thoughts affect us.  Have you ever felt like you’re going to catch a cold and you say to yourself, “I can’t get sick right now I can’t afford to miss work” …then that cold never really  got you sick.  On the flip side of this you say to yourself ….”I feel horrible I know I am coming down with something I need to go to bed” then before you know it your horribly sick in bed for days. Well this is the power of your thoughts.

What you think is what you attract and manifest.

If we tell ourselves subconsciously all the time we are never going to find a good job or a decent partner then we never will. By making such a statement is making hurdles for you in life.   We are not aware of the numerous negative thoughts we say to ourselves.  Then look around and wonder why our life is so miserable when we don’t stop and think of how we are looking at things.

There is a law of attraction.  If you desire something you need to attract it.  If you’re saying you want a loving relationship but you don’t believe you can find one do you think you will manifest this relationship?  If you’re saying to yourself “There aren’t any good men/women out there in the world anymore”.   Do you think you will find a good partner?

When you have a good positive way of thinking about things in your life no matter the situation whether it be your career, health, money, romance  or happiness you have the power to create and attract these things into your existence. You just have to watch how you say it and also need to totally believe that it is yours. Once you consciously stop saying the mental blocks and negative things to yourself then you begin to create of easier path for yourself in life.

As I simply like to say or point out, your life is an outer reflection of your inner thinking.  If you don’t like your life change your thoughts.

When buying or moving into a new home we all have dreams of being financially stable and happy in our new abode. Something to strongly consider when building your home or house hunting is the love sector of the home.

Ideally the home should be square in shape and the front door in the center. Now imagine standing at the front door looking into your new residence and visualize a tic tack toe or traditionally called a Bagua across the entire home. The top or back side of the house on the right hand corner is the love sector of the home and perfect placement for the master bedroom. Not to worry if the master suite is not in this sector there are cures or ways to remedy this placement.

For example if the kitchen is in the place this may mean you enjoy or love cooking or if the den is there it can represent where you enjoy entertaining there as well are a few examples. If the house is an “L” shape and this section is missing it could indicate difficulties in finding a lasting relationship as well but all things can be fixed without having to move out in order to find love.

Now let’s fine tune the master bedroom a little bit more while standing facing into your bedroom once again see the tic tack toe (Bagua) and notice what is in the right hand corner of the bedroom on the back wall of your room. This is the love sector of the bedroom. Usually a lot of people have a night stand in this placement and it is can be used to enhance the romance portion of the room.

You should always place items in this area in pairs due to this represents a couple. This can be a statue of a couple embracing or if you’re already in a relationship you can take a photo of the two of you together smiling and put it in a beautiful frame. You can place other items such as two hearts (one heart would only be yours) remember it likes “pairs”. I also suggest two candles and lighting them daily for 15 minutes, due to the love sector is ruled by the fire element.

A few things to avoid in this section are clutter as it can bring complications and issues into the relationship and be mindful in not placing items in threes as this can bring a third person into the relationship which we all know twos company and threes a crowd.

Aries is ruled by the head and face and prone to head injuries can be susceptible to headaches and nervousness. They need to slow down but don’t expect them to listen.

Taurus rules the neck, throat, metabolic system, and the thyroid gland which can make it difficult for them to convert what they eat into energy and makes them prone to gain weight.

Gemini rules the hands, arms, shoulders and lungs.   While the mind is often thinking of one thing the body is doing another.  Slowing down and breathing is essential to their well-being.

Cancers are ruled by their stomachs and breasts. Sensitive to hot and cold.  Need to watch the digestive tract and for food allergies especially dairy products and can become picky eaters.

Leo is ruled by the back, heart, and spine.  Can seem very strong but need to watch their emotional health and stress.  Need to protect their hearts, muscular, and circulatory systems.

Virgos need to watch sinuses, intestines, and colon.  Should stop periodically when eating to digest food properly.  Avoid stress, and anxiety to maintain a healthy immune system.

Libra needs to watch for lower back issues as well as their kidneys.  Inner and outer fitness are important for their balance. Female Libras need to watch for reproductive issues.

Scorpio tends to hold everything inside which can make them prone to urinary tract infections and constipation.  Male scorpions need to pay very close attention to their prostate gland.

Sagittarius is ruled by the hips, thighs, and liver and can be harmed by overindulgence.  Need to avoid excess in sugar, fat, and alcohol all of which can harm the liver.

Capricorn is the goat and they usually live very long lives but can become rigid and old and therefore prone to arthritis or rheumatism.  It also rules the skeleton, bones, teeth and gums.

Aquarius is ruled by the ankles and the circulatory system and our ability to stand.   They are intense thinkers and need to watch their minds to make sure they are not forgetful at times.

Pisces rules the feet and they are also sensitive and need to limit their intake of food and alcohol. They retain water and are prone to depression. Keeping hormones balanced is key.

Let’s take the 12 signs and divide them into four groups.  These four groups are the elements Fire, Earth, Air and Water.  Each of these elements governs three astrological signs and these three signs are basically harmonious with one another and share similar characteristics.  The categories are as follows:

Air Signs~Gemini~Libra~Aquarius   Air signs are the thinkers, and free spirited.  They are communicators, highly intelligent and able to process large amounts of information.  Very social and love stimulating company where they can exercise their minds and exchange ideas.  Love for culture, as well of appreciate of structure and the system. Vocations for the air signs are communication, technology, sales, marketing, media, and travel.

Water Signs~Cancer~Scorpio~Pisces   Are the emotions and feelings of the zodiac.  They are very intuitive, protective, nurturing, empathetic, and compassionate.  Extremely sensitive which can make wear their emotions on their sleeve or hide them from the world.  Very creative and love home and family.  Vocations commonly held by water signs are artist, cooks, interior decorators, therapist, counselors, child or adult day care where they can nurture others.

Sit down and think for a moment ….what would be your dream home? Maybe it will have the grand staircase in the foyer, or the spa master bath, and of course the custom walk- in closet.  I am sure each of us has the vision of our ideal home, but what if you build this perfect home only to find out that you are not happy?  Financially, the home could be a money pit, or a relationship ends and you end up living alone there.  I am not saying this will happen, however there are a few things to consider when thinking about designing, buying or moving into a home.

It is not only about your taste in color, tile, flooring etc… but also the energy of the home and making sure you have the right elements to experience harmony. Making a better home can be easily achieved using the principals of Feng Shui which use the foundations of wind and water to experience tranquility.

Ideally in Feng Shui your home should be a square or box shape. If you are living in a home that is “L” shaped it could be missing the love or wealth sector. Or if the home is a “U” shape this could affect your fame or career sector depending on where it is based on the homes floor plan.   Don’t panic or worry if you have already moved into your home and it is shaped this way, there are ways to remedy or cure it.  There are many Feng Shui consultants that can address your concerns specifically or you can look online as well.

The entrance to your home is vital as well because it affects the flow of energy into your residence.  If it is a smaller entrance with a blocked pathway and narrow entry way this could slow down opportunities in your life.  On the other hand, if the entrance is large and clear and bright then it allows things to enter your life more freely.

Here are a few examples of good Feng Shui for the front door of your new home.  Roll out a brand new welcome mat to bring good energy into your home.  Also, accent the front porch with symbols such as Fu dogs, lions or dragons which act as guardians that carry the message “Enter here only if you come in Peace.”  Other inviting symbols include chimes, fountains, banners, flowers and seating.  Red is also the traditional color of welcome and it can be introduced by painting the front door an appealing shade of this hue, or placing red flowers or other red items near the entrance.

Deep down inside of each and everyone one of us we all desire to be loved.  We think of how it would be finding that perfect somebody to share our life with forever.  We look for that special someone we call a “soul mate” but what does soul mate really mean?  Is it possible for someone to be perfect?  To answer this simply No, no one is perfect, so why expect that of love?

We are all humans here to learn lessons about love. If we keep attracting the same type of relationships over and over then that is a karmic relationship, there is something to learn from being with this person.  I have found that we usually tend to connect with the soul mate after we have encountered some failed relationships.  Part of this may be in order to help us recognize and appreciate the soul mate as well.

As young girls we are given the notion that one man named Prince Charming is out there for us, and if we find him we will be so lucky and live happily ever after.  Well I hate to break the fairy tales but that is one fictional character and someone name Cinderella already nabbed him so why are we looking?  Soul mates are human, they come with baggage sometimes and we can always learn from imperfections.  But I think we have to be realistic in what we are expecting in romance.  We expect them to be so tall, specific hair color, eyes, weight, nationality etc… 

I have observed that more people find or connect with their soul mate without trying.  It’s not so much “OK your soul mate will be at The Plum on the 3^rd Friday of next month” but more about you being ready inside of yourself to experience this relationship.   Some traits of knowing you have found your perfect partner or soul mate are you complete each other, you are very much alike, and there is an intense connection emotionally, physically and spiritually.

They bring out the best in you, love you, and accept you unconditionally.  Usually you know this connection from the first few moments of meeting them.  It feels right, you know them, very comfortable and you trust them.  One thing I often find in my practice people ask “Is this person my soul mate?” my response is …”If you had to ask if they are your soul mate then your answer is No…because when it is your soul mate….you just know it inside with no doubt whatsoever.”  Soul mates are not made, they are born for one another.

Summer is here and we all would like to get away for that perfect vacation. Here are some ideas based on your sun sign or your perfect destination.

Aries~Love the heat so sitting by the pool at a resort in Arizona or Death Valley just might be the perfect time for them because they love it hot!!!

Taurus~Enjoys expensive and luxurious vacations for a bargain price. They have fine taste perhaps a culinary or foodie destination would delight them.

Gemini~Needs two vacations…one filed with lots of sightseeing and the other filed with non-stop fun and adventure SeaWorld San Antonio for the child in all of us.

Cancer~Loves a staycation due to they are the homebodies. Perhaps setting up an in home spa treatment and renting some movies and deliver the food is ideal.

Leo~Likes adventure and excitement and being treated like royalty so Vegas Baby! It’s a great spot for them since they are the sign that loves to gamble.

Virgo~Is very particular about where they travel and stay with specific needs. A health or spa resort in California will please them.

Libra~Loves to travel anywhere as long as there is good shopping nearby, they are very spontaneous and ready to go anytime. The Big D and Houston are for them.

Scorpio~Enjoys the water and more secluded places. The lake or ocean with either boating, fishing, surfing or just relaxing puts them at ease being by water.

Sagittarius~Appreciates having to travel, they enjoy being on the go and finding the unusual and unique spots the out of the ordinary hard to find locations.

Capricorn~Is the only sign that would appreciate a working vacation. It also needs to be a place of meaning like the Historic Missions of San Antonio.

Aquarius~Would like to go the most unusual and out of ordinary places like the Arctic Circle or the Sahara …not a normal tourist destination.

Pisces~If Fantasy Island were a real destination they would go there. They prefer a dreamy total escape destination with lots of pampering and solitude by water.

*Water represents feelings and emotions, positive or negative. Is the water in your dream in the form of a raging ocean with choppy waters? If so, this is an indication of emotional turmoil. Are the waters calm? Good news, this usually is a sign of being in a peaceful state.

* Death is another very common dream which can indicate a fear of being hurt or a change coming in your life. This is a largely misunderstood dream because many fear it represents a literal physical death.

*Falling in a dream can indicate not feeling supported in your life and can happen often when you are overwhelmed. Myths have risen that if you hit the ground in your dream you will die, well we all die at some point but having this dream I assure you won’t mean that you are close to your own demise.

*Flying can symbolize rising above situations or circumstances in your life.

*Transportation such as planes, boats, or buses can be indicative of missing out on something important in your life and often occur when facing deadlines.

*Nudity-we’ve all had or heard of this horrific dream- you’re in front of a crowd and suddenly realize you are completely nude! This dream is to be interpreted literally as it conveys a feeling of over-exposure or vulnerability.

If you do not recall your dreams and would like to be better at it keep a notepad and pencil on your nightstand, this way upon wakening jot down what you do recall. Only you can be the one to decide what the dream truly defines so be sure to pay attention to what you think it means and remember keep the symbolism simple in helping to unlock the meanings.

Feng Shui is about the flow of energy inside your home. If your home has clutter this creates stagnation in your life and can affect many areas for instance, your health, love life and finances to name a few. Picture a river and it flowing smoothly but there is a large rock which does not allow the river to flow freely. This is an example of how clutter can create blockages in your life.

When clearing the clutter here are a few Feng Shui principals. Donate anything you don’t need or use regularly to charity, or give it to someone who can use it. If it is broken get rid of it. Objects that bring a great deal of joy into your life are the one exception to this rule. Items that you use every day should always be stored neatly in their designated area. Pay special attention to your home’s entryway, since it’s important to create a good flow of incoming positive energy.

Begin wherever you feel like it –this could be a closet or maybe you bathroom vanity and begin with one room at a time. Also support your energy with good Feng Shui energy props like fresh flowers, a favorite scent, candle or lively music all of these help to invite good chi/energy into your home. Open windows and doors to your home to allow the fresh air in and new vital chi.

You should also place healthy living plants in your home for growth and vitality. Also keep your windows clean as they represent opportunities. So when spring cleaning this year don’t think of it as such a huge chore, remind yourself that your clearing your life of old, negative energy and inviting the new positive energy into your home and life.
